I'm going to build a classic detached garage with an attached carport and storage "inside." The entire building will be 7x9m, but the carport lacks a "whole" outer wall, having only two post foundations. So far so good, but I always like to complicate things a bit, so I'm considering removing one post and having only one in the outer corner. I'm doing this to avoid a too bumpy right side on the car that will be parked in the carport. The question then becomes which material and dimension should be chosen? I'm attaching a sectional sketch and some other measurements, so perhaps someone can help me.
