Hello,

We plan to launch our next project soon. The project involves creating a large bathroom in the basement. To do this, we need to take down about 1.5 m of a wall. The wall as well as the arch are made of concrete, and yes, the wall is load-bearing according to the plans. The house is a 1 1/2-story house with a basement, and the thing is that above this intended opening, we previously demolished about 4 m of the corresponding wall one floor up and relieved this with a HEA 160 beam according to all the rules with the help of a designer.

The question is: Do we need to hire a building consultant to calculate for this as well? It feels like it should be okay to take down this piece since there is no longer a wall relieving this concrete wall above. The posts that support the HEA beam are just over 1 m from either side of the intended opening.

The rulebook does say building permit and constructor, but I would probably bring out the big saw and just go for it full throttle.....

Yes, the rulebook is clear on that point... But it's nice to hear from others who have played outside the rulebook in this case. Thank you!

Then you are reading an old rulebook.
The rulebook does not mention anything about building permits for construction changes. However, it does mention building notification.

Regardless of permission or notification, construction drawings + calculations will be required.....
