Hey! New to the forum, I know it's about building houses but I've seen many post their apartments too :)

Bought a co-op from the late '50s that I'm renovating. When everything was torn out, there was a built-in closet in the bedroom that was a bit too tight. So when the crowbar was used to remove the closet, the wall next to the living room cracked and ended up "a bit outside." The entire apartment is concrete, I think lightweight concrete?! The wall is still stable so nothing is loose, so to speak.

Now my question is, how should I proceed, is it best to tear down and rebuild or can it be resolved in some way?

  • Damaged wall with visible crack and exposed orange bricks, likely from removing a built-in wardrobe in a 1950s apartment during renovation.
  • A cracked wall with visible orange bricks and a removed built-in wardrobe in a 1950s apartment undergoing renovation.
  • Damaged wall with exposed concrete and brick after removing a built-in wardrobe in a 1950s apartment. Peeling wallpaper reveals underlying structure.
  • Cracked concrete and exposed brick wall in a 1950s apartment under renovation, showing damage from removing a built-in wardrobe.
You can take that down and if you clean them from bruk you can probably rebuild them again.
