Hello, we are considering tearing down our garage and building a garage in part of the barn, to the right of the large black gate, for two cars and some other odds and ends.
Has anyone done something similar and can show some pictures of how it can look to have a garage that way? We are considering not having any doors but with the possibility to add them later.
We have a quote of about 300,000 to clear, pour a slab, and build a complete frame with a ceiling and walls with OSB/gypsum where the ceiling is load-bearing and able to support a larger load.
Our carpenters are doing it continuously, so the price is an estimate to have some control.
Mostly interested in whether someone else has done something similar and got it to look nice.

Not a garage, but I did a slaughterhouse. In total, also "for two cars" because 3x8 m (including the refrigerator) and 3.5 meters high. Reinforced ceiling with a rail for transporting animals for about 500 kg. Fully insulated and tiled to a height of 2.2 m and 2 special doors. That's why I think the price is a bit "exaggerated"
If it is an industrial building, the LBK requirements regarding fire compartment EI60 should be followed and electrical installation rules can be found online; search for LBK binder Brandskyddsföreningen regulations.
Hello Gustav, that's what I understood, an inspector from Länsförsäkringar is going to call me next week to go through all the regulations. As I understand it, it must withstand fire for 60 minutes.Gusten2915 said:
Good 😁 I work with farms myself, and it's better to check what's required before starting the construction. Good luck
