Hello, we are going to demolish a load-bearing wooden frame, and we will screw up a beam that the glulam beam will rest on. The designer has said that we need a construction screw called WT-T 8,2*300.

It should also be fine with an equivalent.

Does anyone know what it might be called in that case? We can't get hold of the one we need😩

Check if the designer means ET-T. W is next to E on the keyboard. It is a screw with a large flat head. ET-T is Essve's model but there are equivalents from other manufacturers, Heco, SPAX, "Big Dog" (Fast? Vsv?), MFT among others.

There is a screw called WT-T, but we can't find one that long in Sundsvall

  • Label of a WT-T screw showing dimensions 8.2x300 mm, coated in Durocoat 5 µm, with product codes and manufacturing date.

Pondus has the equivalent and I also believe Essve has it. Ignore the letters and look at the dimension. Each brand has its own designation, and designers usually go with SFS screws that can't be bought over the counter where regular people shop.
Be prepared for the screw to be extremely expensive at that length, around 50-60 kronor each is not unreasonable. Also, remember that you can't use impact when screwing it in.

Ok, thank you very much for the help. We'll look for the function (screw at both ends) and the length 300😊

It is often called a konstruktionsskruv.

Yes, we have understood that😊 But construction screw is a broad term😊

I mixed up Essve's ET-T with WAF. Forgive me, my supports for alternating beams were fastened with the latter. ET-T is of the type you showed with dual threads.

That variant is also available from MFT which can be purchased at Hornbach. Don't know about stores north of Stockholm though.

Unfortunately, none this far up😩
