I was thinking of building a fairly high (2.5 meters) gate about 120 cm wide with two doors. I'm a bit unsure about construction, dimensions, and such.

On the left, I have a small shed and on the right, I have a newly planted hedge (thuja). The opening/gate will be about 1.2m, so I was thinking of two "door panels."

It will be high, there is a soccer field a bit away, so it will also act as privacy protection.

Right next to the hedge (right side of the opening in the image), I plan to cast a concrete post and place a 95*95 approximately 2.7 m high post where the right door will be attached. An "overbeam" 95*22 from there running to the small shed so that the post doesn't sway laterally.

The door panels will be 0.6 m wide and 2.5 m high. I plan to build the frame in 28*45 (battens), see the sketch. On that, I will screw exterior single-pitched panels vertically, trying to find about 12mm thick panels so it doesn't become too heavy. Maybe the outermost vertical (the one with the hinges) should be 45*45 for stability?

I considered placing the battens vertically instead of the panel, but they need to be set with only 2-3 mm gaps for privacy reasons. Not only will it be twice as heavy compared to the panel, but also the 2-3 mm gaps might "whistle" when it's windy.

Tips on hinges, "ground pins" to keep the doors still, etc., are also gladly received!
Drawing of a double gate design with vertical panels and diagonal supports, including measurements. Hinges are shown on either side of the gate. Illustration of a planned tall gate with two doors between a black shed and new thuja hedge, showing design and placement in a garden setting. Wooden shed on the left, small green thuja hedge in the foreground, wooden picket fence with metal hinges, and trees in the background. A black storage shed next to a wooden fence and newly planted thuja hedge, surrounded by green grass and tall trees in a garden setting.

To the left, I have a small shed, and to the right, I have a newly planted hedge (thuja). The opening/gate will be about 1.2m, so I'm thinking two "door leaves."

It will be high, there is a football field a bit away, so it also serves as a privacy screen.

Right next to the hedge (the right side of the opening in the picture), I plan to cast a pillar and set a 95*95 about 2.7 m high post where the right door is attached. An "overlying beam" 95*22 from there running to the small shed so that the post doesn't sway sideways.

The door leaves will be 0.6 m wide and 2.5 m high. I plan to build the frame in 28*45 (slats), see the sketch. On this, I will then screw vertical cladding, trying to find about 12mm thick panels so it won't be too heavy. Maybe the outermost vertical (the one with the hinges) should be 45*45 for stability's sake?

I toyed with the idea of setting slats vertically instead of panels, but they would need to be placed only 2-3 mm apart for privacy's sake. It would be twice as heavy compared to panels and maybe the 2-3 mm gaps would "whistle" when it's windy.

Tips on hinges, "pins down into the ground" to keep the doors still, etc., are also gratefully received!

Looks good to me.
Just make sure to use outdoor hinges, preferably stainless steel. And definitely not electroplated.

Thanks! And good tip about the hinges, I hadn't thought about that!

Is there a picture of the final result? We are going to build something similar.
