We are using Weber's serporoc system in an extension that will be thickly plastered. So, a stud frame that is now clad with wind protection boards that are taped.

The manual is all Greek and it has to be taped in incredibly many ways. Never again will we build anything with these modern systems.

1. Do you really need to bevel the bottom piece that the window frame stands on? (15 degrees according to the manual)
2. Do you need fasteners at all when mounting linseed oil-painted wooden windows in an old style?
3. Should windows be mounted flush with the wind protection board or be pulled out?
4. Should you really tape a tight tape on the outside between the window frame and the wind protection board?

It was better in the past.

Received notice from the tinsmith that fastening brackets are rarely used on houses.

Weber's salesperson thought the chamfering of the bottom piece under the frame was overkill.

The question remains whether one should really seal with Weber's sealing tape between the wind protection board and the frame? Normally, one would have a tight seal on the inside and one that can breathe on the outside?
