A ceiling made of what I call lap-sawn boards, overlapped. How on earth do I create a trim between the wall and the ceiling, is there any clever way? The wall is beadboard, only knot-sealed so far. Grateful for suggestions on solutions.

A strong "list" might work, but definitely not a thin traditional list. It should be something more equivalent to a board.

A neat alternative is to mount a board crosswise that is as wide as the cornice extends from the wall. It is probably too late in your case as you need to cut off all the caps to get the board in place.

Yes, I either have to improvise something rough, or I'll have to live with it as it is. Trim, by the way, usually has quite a low priority and is postponed as long as possible. That's something I've seen in many houses at least. 😀
