Hello!
We have a basement wall made of plastered lecablocks. The house was built in the mid-70s. One of the rooms is to be renovated, and the existing plaster is partially damaged near the slab, likely due to moisture. In a couple of spots, it's deep enough to glimpse the lecablock itself. We cannot drain this part of the house, so there will continue to be some moisture.
I'm considering repairing the damaged areas with some form of plaster and then painting with silicate paint. Does anyone have tips on choosing plaster or other materials?
I realize there's a high risk the problem will recur since we can't drain the area, but a solution that works in at least 10-year intervals would be acceptable.
Grateful for help!
Best regards,
C
