Hello, my partner and I are in the process of completely renovating a house we have bought. The inner walls are exclusively chipboard attached with nails and glue to the studs. When I try to remove the chipboard, a lot of residue is left on the studs, see the pictures, which cannot be removed. I have tried removing the residue with a chisel and hammer, reciprocating saw, multi-tool, and sander, but either it bites too deeply into the wood or nothing happens. How should I go about removing it in the best way and avoid damaging the studs too much? Close-up of wall studs covered in chipboard debris, showing difficulty in removing remnants during renovation. I would have probably gone for the multi-tool. With a good coarse-toothed saw blade. Place the blade flat against the top of the beam. Then I imagine you can cut straight into the glue joint. That should work.

Probably, I am slow-thinking, but I don't understand how this is constructed given the images.
Isn't it easier to also tear off the studs and install new ones?

If you remove all the nails, a regular manual planer can work well... that's what I did when I tore away the flooring chipboard...

Maybe something like this could help
