We have made some progress in the renovation and the wall is gone!

The next stage is to build everything back up so we have relatively even and nice walls that can be painted. Aware that it's an old house and I'm not after perfection - but now to my question! Part of the load-bearing wall consists of a plastered chimney breast that we plan to use next year when we build in a stove on the floor below.

Previously, it was only covered with a painted Masonite board, which is now removed to access pipes and such that also need to go. How do you protect the wall in a good way? Is it enough to plaster with lime mortar and apply linseed oil paint? Do we need fire protection in some way? It doesn’t matter if there's a protruding corner on the left where plaster meets the inner wall, I just want to make sure we do it the right way.
