I'm going to build a cornice on my carport (the decoration/steps up by the roof). The cornice will be built on the glulam beam and up at the ridge. I need a construction board that I can build the "steps" from and then plaster the structure. Anyone have any tips?

I'm planning to build now before winter and plaster in spring. So what I build from (the construction board) needs to withstand rain and moisture over the winter.

Is it possible to screw into minerit board? I.e., can you, for example, screw together a box, screw into the ends of the board?

You need to have a stud behind to screw into.

No, but I don't know of any plaster board that would solve that.

There are quite a few plaster boards/plaster carriers of various kinds, but I don't know at all which one is best suited for you, but the fibercement boards (like gyproc) are relatively easy to work with.
