Building a box/house for an outdoor filter
Hello,
I'm thinking of moving the hydropress, softener, and iron filter outside as they take up a large part of the laundry room. I need inspiration and advice on the box. The box will be placed behind the hole in the terrace, and I estimate the internal dimensions need to be 100 high and 150 wide.
- How should I insulate it? Foam plastic and moisture barrier/plastic?
- Ventilation?
- Tips on a front opening.
Feel free to share your ideas and experiences.

You can make a rather small box if you can remove the lid and sides on the day you need to access it. Formplywood is an excellent material that I have used myself for similar setups. Put a sturdy roofing felt on the lid, so no major slope is needed. The measurements will be very small. Insulate the interior with Styrofoam or stone wool. Ground boards can be handled the same way as Styrofoam. No vapor barrier. The indoor temperature should be low.
We plan to do the same thing.
Is a building permit required for such a box?
