Replacing basement front doors. House from the 60s. Found a seal behind the door frame that looks suspicious. What do you think?

I don't think it's asbestos. It looks like some kind of adhesive/cement.

Asbestos consists of sharp fibrous strands, I can't see any tendency of this in the edges of what you are showing.

Yes, it seems to be some glue. However, you can't visually determine whether it's asbestos or not. You need to look at it under a microscope. I was mostly wondering if anyone has experience with asbestos being used behind door frames?
