I'm not quite sure which forum section to place general evening musings about renovations, but I'll try here.. I have a partition wall in the attic that's probably built freehand with a crooked sense of measurement because you get easily seasick looking at it. The problem is that the attic has long been living space, so fixing that wall has been a "to do list" project for a long time.

I preferably don't want to tear down the whole wall but am considering building around it. Like framing with 45x45. But straight, of course.. but there are some electrical boxes there. How should I think about those? How do I get them flush?

Maybe should have been in the electrical forum. Because now I realized. The easiest way must be to cut out the existing ones and bend the pipes so they reach the box on the new wall stud. Kind of building into the wall. Probably need to shim a bit at the doorpost but should be doable. The wall will be about 20cm thick. It's into the kid's room so it will work as extra soundproofing.
