Basement remodeling - uninsulated slab
Thinking of making the basement more livable. It's about an uninsulated slab. At first, I considered laying tiles and underfloor heating, but got several recommendations not to do so because the moisture could then rise into the walls. The expensive option I was given was to break up the floors and lay a new insulated floor. We're talking about three spaces in the basement, 24 sqm, 19 sqm, and 9 sqm, totaling 52 sqm.
Now I've started considering ventilated floors and wonder if anyone has experience with that. What is the best option? Blå Platon? Nivell? Granab? And how much do they differ in terms of price? I've done many searches but haven't found any real answers.

Hi, I can share how I've done it, though it might not work in all houses since conditions vary. I laid blue platon, 22mm chipboard flooring, and carpet in a room in the basement (uninsulated slab, drained foundation) and also upgraded to a double-effect radiator. Skirting boards on spacers from the wall. It has worked well for 10 years. In the rest of the basement, also uninsulated slab, I laid nivell 10mm insulation board (too little insulation), 12mm water-based heating with its own circulation pump, thermostat, mixing valve, and electric cartridge, then tile on top. In the winter, it runs on the house's heating system, and in the summer on the electric cartridge to prevent moisture migration. Warm comfortable floors all year round. I've been using this for over 5 years. Regards, Mattias
It is possible to lay needle felt carpet that is not dense directly on the floor, making it warmer to walk on. Or tiles without heating and plenty of soft loose rugs. Withstands floods, etc. that can happen in basements.
